Health and Nutrition Books
Wheat Belly Julie and I listened to this book with Audible while we were running. We found the book was very eye opening. Dr. William Davis explains how wheat has become such a staple of our diets. He explained how through hybridization and genetic engineering wheat has been drastically changed from its original structure to a style of super wheat that is no longer healthy for us to eat in large quantities or possibly at all.
I know that talking bad about wheat is like killing a sacred cow. However, the facts presented in this book are overwhelming. If you are concerned about health and insidious weight gain give this book a try. You might be shocked. Learn more.
Primal Blueprint We really enjoyed this book. Mark, the author, promotes a diet and life style that is often called primal, paleo, or ancestral. While I don’t subscribe to the evolutionary premise of the book the “10 Laws for living a healthy life style” represented in it make a lot of sense. Basically, if we eat a whole food low carb diet, use our bodies for more than holding the couch down, get plenty of rest and time to play we will all be a lot more heathy and productive. Get the book and check it out for your self. Learn more.
